A Home for Generations
Our Story
For more than a decade, the parish of St. Aidan’s has been without a building, meeting in various rented facilities. We are deeply grateful to the churches and organizations that have housed us, including Ambassador Christian Reformed Church, the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, and most recently St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic parish. At the same time, we long for a home of our own.
The Vision
As our staff and parish council have sought God’s will for our church over the years, the desire for a permanent church home has only grown stronger. We are asking the Lord to provide us with A Home for Generations. The meaning of this phrase is two-fold. We desire that God would make us a church where all generations come together to praise and proclaim Jesus Christ, from newborns to centenarians! We also pray that St. Aidan’s would be a light shining in Windsor for generations to come—long after any of us will live to see it.
Campaign
In our A Home for Generations Campaign, yes, we are raising money in order to purchase a permanent building. We are thankful for the funds that have already been raised, and trust the Lord for full provision in his timing.
More than that, however, this campaign is about faithfulness. It is our prayer that the Lord would increase our faith, so that we might follow him to the place where we will be of greatest value to the Kingdom of God.
Pray
Pray that the Lord would increase the fruit of faithfulness in us.
Pray that each of us would grow in faith and desire to hear his blessed words, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master” (Matt 25:21).
Pray that we would have the faith to see God’s will and desires for our church above our own.
Pray for a united, joyful, faithful church at St. Aidan’s.
Pray for the place the Lord has set apart for us.
Reflect
Remember the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to us, and how he has provided for us thus far: “Till now the Lord has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12).
He has indeed helped us, and will continue to do so. Let’s remember and share the stories of his faithfulness to this congregation with each other.
